Who Is Wee Dan ?
Stevie Connor formed a music company with his wife in 2011 called WeeDan Music, it was named for three reason's, Stevie's middle name is Daniel, his father's name was Daniel and his nephew is called Daniel who is referred to as Wee Dan ( Meaning Little Dan in Scots )
When given the opportunity to host a radio show in 2012, Stevie thought about all the music that filled the house ( Or ' hoose ' in Scots ) when he was young, and how that shaped his life as a musician, He envisioned the show concept could recreate some of the kitchen party atmosphere that he experienced, the merriment, laughter, and the wonderful playing he was surrounded with ( Stevie and his family are all top class musicians from Scotland ) Produced in his home studio, Wee Dan's Hoose, often referred to as simply ' The Hoose ' , seemed like the perfect name to showcase Celtic, Folk, Roots, Alt Country, Blues and everything in between, where people are invited into Stevie's world, can gather for an hour each week, relax and enjoy the music presented from Canada and beyond and be part of a show without borders or compromise. In February 2018 the show name was changed to ' Under The Radar ' to more accurately reflect the type of music played on the show, most of the artists Stevie plays are independent and non mainstream, under the majority of people's radar. |
