Born in Scotland and brought up in the Scottish highland piping tradition from an early age, taught by his father, a world champion piper, and tutored by a world class player at the age of thirteen onwards, he went on to play at a very high level with many leading players of the day. He has won many band and solo piping contests, and, as well as being a world class piper he plays whistles, guitars and bodhran to a high standard. He has performed with pipe bands, folk bands and rock bands along with being on call as a session player contributing to over twenty albums including his own which contains some of his original songs and tunes. His compositions have been recorded and published by other artists ,including Wolfstone, Dougie Pincock ( Battlefield Band ) and others. Since moving to Canada Stevie has become the owner and founder of Blues and Roots Radio, he is head of programming and produces shows for the station including his own weekly one hour show. |

Top Class PiperStarting of his pipe band career with Craigmount High School Pipe band, he played for a number of years with the Lothian and Borders Police Pipe Band at Grade 1 level in Scotland and for other bands including The Scottish Gas Pipe Band, The City Of Glasgow Pipe band, The Carnegie Mellon University Pipe band in the USA and he was also Pipe Major of his local band West Linton and District for four years helping them transition from the brink of extinction to a competing band, tutoring pipers from the ages of eight years to adults. |
